The auctioneers Allsops have listed this pub as 'former public house' although no change of use has yet to be granted. The sale is at the Park Lane Hotel on 18th December with a low price range of £75,000 to £120,000 for those with money who want a pub! There is local support for it to remain a pub and Braintree Council have been contacted to ask for refusal of change of use and potential listing of the building which dates from the 17th century. A meeting was held in the village hall to gather support for the pub to remain and a lot of support for this was shown by nearly all the attendees.
